Instructor; John Paul Marmonti, AIB Graduate

This course is for beginners to intermediate and advanced students or those who lost their way raising their own families.  Come enjoy yourself and get creative in a group of like minded folks.  Emphasis is not on drawing skills but on learning how to create images you never thought you could and getting away from snapshot style compositions. Consider this an educational and enjoyable journey to learn new tricks and make better artwork and expand your creativity to new levels.

My Art education (71-78, Graduate Art Institute of Boston) was at a time there were no computers, adobe Illustrator and a mouse was something that ate cheese, software was something you slept on !!

We were fortunate to have many top notch teachers retired from NYC agencies and several top dog illustrators & Artists who taught from one day to full semester courses of their own making as guest teachers and lecturer’s. Some were self taught and some not. We were lucky to be exposed to a special piece of each of their knowledge and learned a new way of looking at the world.

Both Picasso & Rockwell were still alive and creating, it was a rich time in Art history. Although I had my own graphics & printing company for many years making a living and raising 3 children my love of  painting seem to fade into the “No time for that” area.
I managed to sketch and now and then a painting would slowly get done until the late 90’s when I began to take back my passion and  spend more time each year creating my art, studying and traveling with my 9/11 collection to 6 states and counting, doing Library shows down the East Coast and setting up at Art Fairs with my prints and originals.   Doing fundraisers for Firefighters and Rescue Squads with the Worcester Pipe & Drum Brigade is a passion and I meet real hero’s who put their lives on the line daily.

I work now on one series at a time and often spend year on each one.  I develop reference files, sketches and work with models before the painting work begins.
